WELCOME TO THE THREE PHASE EVENT

The Three Phase Event, Inc, a non-profit [501(c)(3)] organization, is dedicated to providing a venue for all breeds of soft gaited horses, their trainers and riders to demonstrate these horses’ versatility and usefulness. In addition, the Three Phase Event, Inc. has a goal of encouraging the elevation of skills in natural, classical horsemanship in the horse and riders. The Three Phase Event National Competition, is a two day, three phase competition made up of stadium obstacle, dressage and cross country obstacle segments which challenge the horse and rider to be a well rounded team. The classic four beat gait of the breeds competing, must be maintain through out the event. This one of a kind competition for the gaited horses, has long been over due and has drawn national and international attention in the soft gaited horse community since it’s first event was held in April 2007. Horses from such breed registries as the Kentucky Mountain horse, the Rocky Mountain and Mountain Pleasure horses, the Tennessee Walking horse, the McCurdy Plantation horse, the Paso Fino and Peruvian Paso horse and the Missouri Fox Trotters, are just a few examples of the horses that produce the easy riding, four beat gait required for this event.

While the event itself is exciting and challenging for the horse, rider and audience, the profits from the event support our Training, Education and Development program, known as T.E.D. It is this program which we hope will encourage youth and adults alike, to grow in their understanding and skill in training and using these soft gaited horses. The Three Phase Event National Competition, is our major fund raising source which will allow us to provide the scholarships for tuition to colleges, universities, trade schools and clinics for deserving applicants.
